This position is responsible for researching, analyzing, and reporting on various types of spatial and demographic data in support of the Planning Department. This includes providing spatial analysis for special area and sector studies; demonstrating technical expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS); responding to citizen concerns; creating, analyzing, and maintaining a variety of spatial data; and carrying out other duties as assigned. The position serves as the liaison for various town departments with GIS needs and also serves as the liaison with any consultants/venders for the coordination of GIS across the various applications in town. This position responds to requests for data and GIS support from user departments. 

This position provides professional and technical work in the overall context of the community planning process.  The position assists with development review, site planning activities, and site inspections for compliance with local, state and federal environmental, planning regulations, and State regulatory requirements. This position works under the general supervision of the Director of Community Development.
