 Full-time, salaried position with excellent benefits.  This individual will develop, direct, administer and coordinate all planning and economic development activities for the Town.  Responsibilities include supervision of the Planning Department, review of all development projects submitted to the Planning Board for approval, serve as the Town’s Administrative Officer, preparation and administration of federal and state grants, prepare amendments to the land development ordinances and regulations, provision of technical assistance to the Town Council, Planning Board, Zoning Board, Economic Development Commission, and the general public.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Extensive contact with the public and local/state/federal agencies and other parties interested in or associated with community land use and economic development.

Work with developers and their representatives to ensure compliance with local ordinances, regulations and the Comprehensive Plan.

Serve as primary staff to Boards, Commissions and Committees in an administrative and professional advisory capacity. Initiate, promote and implement studies and projects for economic development to Town's Boards, Commissions and Committees.

Review land development and subdivision applications for conformance with planning and design principles and local ordinances.

Prepare staff reports to the Town Council, Planning Board and Zoning Board of Review.

Prepare zoning ordinance and subdivision regulation amendments based on technical research and accepted planning principles.

Review and advise on environmental planning activities, including review of new environmental rules and regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a Master’s degree in urban planning or related field and 2 yrs. of professional planning experience.  Membership in the American Institute of Certified Planners is preferred.  

Salary is $100,000 - $120,000 DOQ.
