Town of North Kingstown seeks an Administrative Assistant responsible for overall office administration of the Planning Department, requiring complex clerical work. Interested candidates must enjoy interacting with the general public, have the ability to maintain cooperative relationships, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and uphold a pleasant demeanor.
The individual will provide administrative assistance to the Planning Department and assorted boards and commissions, maintain the department’s large-scale record keeping and filing system, provide customer service, and complete research. The individual is integral the preparation and coordination of meeting materials for all boards/commissions staffed by the department. He/she will serve as secretary to the Planning Commission and Historic District Commission which includes attending and staffing night meetings. The individual will manage department finances.
Candidates should have graduated from a four-year college or university and have four (4) years of increasingly responsible related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must be proficient in computer use and have knowledge of Microsoft and other applications.
Salary projected in the range of 47,500-56,000
